Ken Banister, whom I’ve known for many years now, has launched the The Complexity Project to explore hidden connections in our lives and the dig into how those connections influence us in our daily lives.

I like the Complexity Project, because it shines a light on some of the very things that make collaboration necessary to address complex problems.

The newDemocracy Foundation is primarily a research organization that works with governments to design and operate public engagement projects so that everyday people can contribute to public policy.

I first connected with the foundation several years ago when I was looking into applying the concept of citizen’s juries to the development of oil and gas regulation. The deliberative approach used by newDemocracy has since become a keen interest of mine.

Métis Crossing

Located just east of Edmonton, this is a venue for any occasion. It’s a stunning building in a stunning location on the banks of the North Saskatchewan River.

After conducting a training session at Métis Crossing, I can absolutely recommend the site to anyone looking for a beautiful venue for group collaboration, a private event, or even just a bit of time away from the city.
